Maine Ski Shuttle to begin Jan. 5

Skiers will be bussed to various mountains for one-day ski trips.

A new service designed to get Maine skiers to the mountain — conveniently and economically — begins Jan. 5. It is called the Maine Ski Shuttle and Jeremy and Keely Cameron will be running it for 12 consecutive Saturdays.

"This alleviates some of the pressure of driving," Jeremy told NEWS CENTER Maine.

The couple, who actually met while running this service out of Boston, hopes it will be a winner in Maine.

The shuttle will run out of Portland at 6 a.m. It will head to Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Loon, Cannon, or Breton Woods, depending on the Saturday.

The price of $89 includes the bus ride and a day ticket to the ski area.

"Anyone who is thirteen and older can get on the bus with a parental consent form," Keely said.
