Bruins fall to Lightning in Game 2

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Lightning have taken the lead against the Bruins in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after burying them 7-1. 

The Bolts' sticks were on fire throughout all three periods with goals by Ondrej Palat, Yanni Gourde, Mikhail Sergachev, Brayden Point, Alex Killorn (2) and Nikita Kucherov.

Solo goal by the Bruins was scored during the second period of tonight's game. The Lightning now lead the series 2-1 heading into Game 4. 

History is in the Lightning's favor. Tampa Bay has won five of its last six playoff meetings against Boston, including a 3-2 win in the second Round Robin game this postseason. The Lightning has faced the Bruins twice before in a best-of-seven playoff series, most recently in the 2018 Second Round when the Bolts won four games in a row after dropping the opener to advance with a 4-1 series win.

Another goal for the Lightning who close out the second period 6-1! Alex Killorn gets his second goal of the night.

9:37 p.m. (Aug. 26):

The Lightning strike again! This time by Brayden Point on a breakaway. The team extends its lead: 5-1

9:25 p.m. (Aug 26):

Alex Killorn bumps up the Bolts lead during a second-period power play. The team now leads 4-1. 

9:15 p.m. (Aug. 26): 

Bruins get on the board for the first time tonight with a goal off of Brad Marchand's skate during a power play.

Mikhail Sergachev makes it 3 for the Lightning!

BACK TO BACK GOALS!!!! The first comes off the stick of Ondrej Palat and the second comes from Yanni Gourde. Lightning lead 2-0 at the end of the first.
