The New England Patriots may be without star receiver Julian Edelman for the first four games of the upcoming season.
ESPN Insider Adam Schefter is reporting Edelman will be suspended for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
Edelman missed the entire 2017 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game.
Edelman has been Tom Brady’s favorite target for the past several seasons. In 2016, he caught nearly 100 passes for more than 1,100 yards. Edelman also made a miraculous catch in Super Bowl 51 against the Atlanta Falcons as the Patriots rallied from a 28-3 deficit to win the game in overtime.
Edelman says he is appealing the suspension.
