GORHAM (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Most high school winter sports regular season schedules start this Friday, December 7, but girls' ice hockey has been underway for a little more than a week now.
Tuesday at USM, The Biddeford/Thonton Academy/Wells team was looking for its first win and taking on 1-1-1 Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic.
The first point of the game belonged to Biddeford. Lily Clough breoke free and put the puck between the goalie's legs to put her team up 1-0.
But Gorham quickly answered. Molly Rathbun tied the game at 1, then the Rams pulled ahead a minute later thanks to a Carson Battaglia goal.
Gorham went on to win 8-3. The Rams play Portland/Deering next on Thursday.
