UMaine can't hold double-digit lead over UNH

By out-muscling UMaine on the boards, UNH turned missed shots into points

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - Tanner Leissner scored 21 points, Iba Camara added 15 points and 16 rebounds and New Hampshire rallied from an 11-point second-half deficit to beat Maine 71-56 on Thursday night.

Elijah Jordan had 13 points and Evan Horn scored 10 for New Hampshire (10-15, 6-5 America East).

Jordan hit a jumper to give the Wildcats a 15-14 lead midway through the first half, but New Hampshire missed 24 of its next 26 field-goal attempts as the Black Bears opened a 37-26 lead early in the second half. Leissner hit a 3 - the Wildcats' first field goal in more than 10½ minutes - to spark a 14-2 spurt that gave New Hampshire a one-point lead with 13:29 to play. Andrew Fleming made a jumper and then hit two free throws to pull Maine within two points with 7:19 left, but Camara scored 12 points during a 17-4 run to close the game.

Aaron Calixte had 16 points and Fleming scored 12 for Maine (6-20, 3-8).

New Hampshire outrebounded the Black Bears 47-32, including 16-3 on the offensive glass, and outscored them 13-3 on second-chance points.
