University of Maine students and family came out in numbers Saturday afternoon to support their football team, more than 3,000 miles away.

The University of Maine is facing off against Eastern Washington University Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN2.

The team is looking for its first national title in the school’s history. A win in Washington on Saturday gets them to the title game.

The university is hosting a number of viewing parties on campus during the game for any black bears who come out of hibernation from studying for finals to cheer on their boys in blue and white.

Maine finished the season with a 10-3 record, leading the Colonial Athletic Association. Eastern Washington University has a record of 11-2.
