PORTLAND, Maine — "Anxiety." "Cancer." "Depression." Those are the vaccine side effects listed on a flyer that appears to come from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The flyers have been circulating through big box stores in Southern Maine.

Are these warnings true?

Our source is Maine CDC Director Dr. Bruce Bates.

"I encourage anyone who comes across one of these flyers to disregard it," said Dr. Bates.

He says these flyers were not issued or endorsed by the Maine CDC or federal CDC.

We can verify, this flyer is not true.

Another way to tell?

The website listed as CDC.org is not an active website, nor is it supported by the federal CDC.

According to the CDC, "in the United States, vaccines are thoroughly tested and then continuously monitored to ensure ongoing safety."
