FARMINGTON, Maine — Governor-elect Janet Mills announced Saturday that tickets for the inauguration are now available to the public and can be reserved at www.janetmills.com/rsvp/public.

The Inauguration will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the Constitutionally set day of Wednesday, January 2, 2019, the “first Wednesday after the first Tuesday in January” at the Augusta Civic Center.

Tickets are required for entry. Members of the public who have not received an invitation in the mail are able to reserve a ticket at www.janetmills.com/rsvp/public. The website will prompt the ticket-seeker to enter their name, address, and email, and, once completed, the ticket will be available to print in PDF format, emailed to the recipient, and can also be held at will call on site at the Civic Center.

Those who are unable to reserve a ticket online can call 207-209-4270 to reserve one. Tickets are reserved on a first come, first serve basis until the Civic Center’s capacity is reached.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Guests should be seated by 5:45 p.m. For security reasons, no backpacks or large bags will be allowed.

In line with past inaugural events, the Inaugural Celebration, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4th, is by invitation-only and will feature to-be-announced entertainment and showcase food and beverages from businesses across the state.

Costs for the inaugural event will be covered by a $20 ticketing charge, as well as by donations raised through the Mills Inaugural Committee.
