Bangor political mainstay Sean Faircloth runs for Governor

BANGOR (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- After building a long record of public service in Bangor, Sean Faircloth is hoping to expand his efforts statewide as governor.

Faircloth discussed his campaign plans Tuesday morning on radio station WVOM's George Hale and Ric Tyler Show.

Over the course of his political career, Faircloth has represented Bangor as city councilor, mayor, state legislator and state senator. He is also an attorney and founder of the Maine Discovery Museum.

As a Democrat, Faircloth faces 11 contenders for his party's nomination. Taking all political parties into account, at least two dozen candidates are in the running for governor.
