Pause_Itivityme: Mark-A-Thon hits new "Mark"

Mark Curdo was live on the radio airwaves again this year raising money for The Center For Grieving Children. The grand total? More than $70,000.

The holiday season is a time we give to our families, and many people give to charities as well. Your mailbox has probably been inundated with requests for donations. It can be overwhelming trying to decide who's worthy and who's not.

Most all are worthy right?

One very worthy organization is the Center for Grieving Children. The 'Center does a lot of great things. Among them, helping kids deal with the loss of a loved one. They help young refugees from other countries find their way here in Maine.

And like all charities, they operate through donations. And, they operate with the help of many many volunteers. So, congratulations to one volunteer who's gone above and beyond for the center for more than 10 years.

Last week, Mark Curdo stayed on the air on WCYY FM in Portland for basically the whole week. He played any song you wanted, and he raised a lot of money for the Center during what they have aptly named the Mark-A-Thon.

Its a fun week filled with crazy song requests! Plus, the great posters Mark creates every year are hilarious.

This year Mark-A-Thon raised $70,000 dollars. Mark will be quick to tell you there are a lot of other people helping him with Mark-A-Thon but it's his baby and he's the one who loses all the sleep.

So, a big thanks to Mister Curdo for keeping things incredibly positive again this year.
