The original neon sign from "207," the news magazine program that airs weeknights on NEWS CENTER Maine, has been put up for auction. Proceeds will benefit Feed Maine in partnership with Good Shepherd Food Bank.
Designed specifically for the program in 2003, the sign hung on the famous brick wall for more than 14 years, shining a light on thousands of guests from senators to sword swallowers to rock and roll hall of fame musicians.

NEWS CENTER Maine and Good Shepherd Food Bank began a partnership more than 10 years ago with an annual Feed ME one-day food drive. This event successfully collected non-perishable food items and cash donations across the state to support Mainers struggling with hunger.
Feed Maine was later launched with the goal to raise enough money to supply 1 million meals to help people across our state gain access to nutritious food when and where they need and to ultimately help end food insecurity in Maine.
For every dollar donated to the NEWS CENTER Maine Feed Maine program, Good Shepherd Food Bank can distribute four meals to hungry people — that means a donation of just $100 equals 400 meals distributed throughout Maine.
NEWS CENTER Maine will match up to $5,000 on bids for the sign.
The auction will run through 2 p.m. on May 3, the same day as NEWS CENTER Maine's Feed Maine telethon. The winner will be announced during that night's episode of "207" at 7 p.m.
