Uber introduces 'Quiet Mode' for Uber Black and SUV users

The option lets passengers notify the driver that they don't want to talk during their ride.

If a chatty Uber driver is your worst nightmare, you're in luck. Uber has introduced a new feature for passengers who prefer to ride in silence. The only catch is that you have to use Uber Black or Uber SUV.

The new "Quiet Mode" setting lets users specify whether they prefer a quiet ride or they're ok chatting with the driver. The option is only available for those passengers who hail Uber Black and Uber SUV cars.

The Quiet Mode setting is one of many new features Uber is rolling out for Uber Black and SUV rides. Other features include "Help with Luggage," which lets the driver know you need extra help with suitcases, "Temperature Control," so that drivers know what your optimum car temperature is, and "Extended Pickup Period," which gives passengers extra time to get to the car.

All of the features are available to users starting May 15.
