WASHINGTON – Eric Trump, the second son of President Donald Trump, said Tuesday that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband has disrespected her, and her career, by publicly criticizing his father's administration.
"Of all the ugliness in politics, the utter disrespect George Conway shows toward his wife, her career, place of work, and everything she has fought SO hard to achieve, might top them all," tweeted Trump, whose father has himself been accused of disrespecting women on more than one occasion. "@KellyannePolls is great person and frankly his actions are horrible."
George Conway, who initially supported Trump, has become one of the president's fiercest conservative critics. An attorney, he has called Trump's appointment of Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general "unconstitutional," and, last month, he referred to the administration as a "dumpster fire."
It wasn't clear exactly what comment or act from Conway prompted Trump's tweet.
Conway has not directly responded to Trump's comments about his marriage, but he did retweet several posts and links to articles address Trump's tweet.
"Wait did I miss something? Did George Conway pay money to have sex with a porn star right after his wife gave birth?" read one from author Reza Aslan.
In response to a recent question about how her husband's opinions have impacted her work, Kellyanne Conway said, "It doesn't affect me or my job at all. I've never been doing better personally or professionally."
