HANCOCK, Maine — A man from Franklin was seriously injured when a car pulled into the path of his motorcycle, throwing him and his passenger off the bike, according to State Police.
State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland says 52-year-old Wesley Corbin was transported from Route 1 in Hancock to Northern Light Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and then taken by LifeFlight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.
His wife, 45-year-old Karen Corbin, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.
State Police say Corbin was unable to avoid the collision.
The driver of the vehicle, 76-year-old Florence French of Hancock had a passenger in the car at the time of the crash. French was evaluated at the hospital as a precaution.
The motorcycle was destroyed and the car had significant damage to the passenger side, police say.
