WESTBROOK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The search for a missing Westbrook man ended Sunday with the discovery of his body in the Presumpscot River.

The family of 44-year-old Richard Goff reported him missing after he failed to arrive for a meeting on Thursday. His wallet had also been left at home.

The Westbrook Police and Maine Wardens Service launched a follow-up investigation at about 10 a.m. Sunday. Within about an hour, investigators said they found Goff's body in the river.

His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Augusta to determine an official cause of death.
