Veazie man last seen on New Year's Day identified as body in Penobscot River

VEAZIE, Maine — The body found in the Penobscot River near the Bucksport/Verona Bridge on Monday has been identified as 21-year-old Ryan Lamontagne of Veazie.

Lamontagne went missing on New Year's Day 2020 and was reported missing to police on January 4. Police said he left his apartment without telling anyone where he was going.

 At this time, the death does not appear suspicious.
