STANDISH (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Two suspects are being sought by the sheriff's office in Cumberland County after an apparent stabbing assault involving a 25-year-old.

The victim, reportedly found lying in the roadway with wounds, told police he had been assaulted by two unknown people on four-wheelers while walking on an ATV trail off Colby Drive in Standish.

Sheriff's deputies evaluated the man and found superficial cuts. He was treated and released at the scene by Standish EMS.

His identity is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.

The sheriff's office describes the first suspect as a white male driving a brown four-wheeler, 30-40 years old and 6 feet 2 inches tall wearing a brown long-sleeved Carhartt shirt, dark pants and work boots with a brown bandana hiding his face and a "dragon" tattoo on his left forearm.

The second suspect is described as a white male driving a green four-wheeler wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, dark jeans and work boots.
