Strangers in Sanford banded together to help a woman stranded in the street get to the sidewalk.

SANFORD (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Whoever said the news is all bad may not be looking hard enough.

A woman in Sanford says she felt inspired after watching two young men help a woman cross Main Street on Sunday, June 10.

Deborah Pelletier Cadigan says a woman in a motorized wheelchair misjudged the curb and was stuck in the street when two strangers from separate cars ran to her aid.

The strangers had to lift the heavy mechanical wheelchair, that usually weighs anywhere from 250-400 Ibs., completely off the road.

After watching the remarkable feat, Cadigan said she was inspired to start trying to capture random acts of kindness in her community.
