Sanford Police need help identifying ballpark hit-and-run witnesses

Police said one man threw a bat at the vehicle in an apparent attempt to distract the driver.

SANFORD (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Sanford Police need the public's help identifying a number of witnesses who were present at Goodall Park the night a woman allegedly drove her car onto the baseball field and hit and killed a man on Friday, June 1.

Police released a number of images of people who saw the incident.

Police said one man threw a bat at the vehicle in an apparent attempt to distract the driver.

“We’re just looking for witnesses at different angles of the field," says Detective Colleen Adams. "Different angles, different areas to confirm or deny certain things if we need to. But we’re just trying to get as many people as possible to get as much information as we can.”
