PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- Portland Police say a 49-year-old woman was transported to Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after being shot on Parris Street. It happened at 8:44 a.m. Sunday. The woman and the alleged shooter were in a verbal argument before the shooting occurred, according to Lt. Robert Martin.
Police would not confirm where on her body the woman was shot, but are looking for a younger white man who was armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun. Police say he was driving a small silver SUV, with another white man in the passenger seat, when they fled the area. The vehicle may have a Massachusetts registration, beginning with the numbers 771.
Police are asking anyone with information to call (207) 874-8575. This is an ongoing story and NEWS CENTER Maine will continue to update it as new information becomes available.
