PITTSFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine State Police believe poor tires caused fatal crash during rain storm.

State police were called to the scene along southbound I-95 near mile-marker 144 in Pittsfield around 1:17 Saturday morning.

Authorities said that Kelcin Dullas, 19, of Levant was driving a 2005 Chevy Colorado when it hydroplaned into a median before hitting a tree, killing the driver on impact.

The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker and had inadequate tires on it, which is believed to be the cause of the crash during the rain storm, Maine State Police said.
