Unsolved Homicides: Anthony Best

In Portland, 43 percent of murders from the last 10 years remain unsolved. Can you help?

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) - On April 28, 2016, Anthony Best was stabbed in the parking lot of Denny's at 1220 Brighton Avenue in Portland. He died weeks later.

He was born in Bangor and attended Calais High School.

According to his obituary in the Bangor Daily News, "Anthony loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with family and friends, and most importantly, cherished being with his two sons, Ahtuwen and Beckham. Anthony will be remembered by many for his passionate and kind ways, always the first to go out of his way to help others."

Police said in a news conference after the stabbing that it may have been racially motivated. The case is still unsolved.

Prior to the stabbing, police say a fight broke out between two groups of people at PT's show club.
