Generations help each other in holiday food drive

Local pre-school children helped deliver food to residents at a Portland senior living facility.

PORTLAND, Maine — A "stuff the van" holiday food drive event was held Thursday at the Park Danforth. Residents of the senior living retirement home have been collecting food for Project Feed, an organization that's been around since the 1970s and provides about 90,000 meals per year to those in need.

"It's really important for our staff and our residents to contribute and to give back and so every year we look for a project, something we can do," said Lindsay Fisher of Park Danforth.

The seniors had a little help stuffing their bus from some little people.

"I think having pre-school children involved in outreach efforts like this in their community is a very valuable experience to help in forming their lives" added Stephen Gray, President of Project Feed.
