Music History tour brings more people to adventure around Macon

The tour ranges from locations on Riverside Drive and Vineville Ave to other spots all around Downtown Macon!

Thanks to the Downtown Challenge Grant, even more people will be taking to the streets to soak up Macon's music history.

Historic Macon, Visit Macon, and Rock Candy Tours have partnered up to introduce the Macon Music History tour.

It is a self-guided tour. You will be given a brochure with 43 stops, some more familiar like the Big House and the Rookery, but then they also have hidden gems like the Hippie Crash Pad and Little Richard's childhood home.

Valerie Bradley of Visit Macon says whether you walk or drive, the tour is something for the whole family to enjoy.

"The landmarks are in one place where you can go upon your leisure to be able to experience each of the landmarks, and you're able to walk in the footsteps of history, able to see, touch, and experience all of the places that are identified in the brochure," she says.

You can get more information about the tour at Visit Macon's visitor center on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
