Wells students show Todd a devil of a good time

Todd Gutner had good things to say about his interactions with every member of the Wells Junior High School fifth grade class, but saved his highest praise for one particular student

WELLS (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- In Todd Gutner's description of his visit with students in Wells, the devil was definitely in the details.

Wells Junior High School was the latest stop by Todd on his tour of classrooms across Maine to explain the science that goes into his weather forecasts on NEWS CENTER Maine.

Todd had good things to say about his interactions with every member of the fifth grade class. But he saved his highest praise for one student in particular.

The class includes the son of a co-worker. Todd singled him out as a "handsome devil" in recounting the visit to his co-anchors on the MORNING REPORT. A pregnant pause in the story led Lee Nelson to question if Todd was trying to assert his own handsomeness in a roundabout way. Though admittedly a devil, Todd shook off any suggestion of being a handsome one.

Todd could more fittingly be described as a hungry devil. And the students appealed to his infamous sweet tooth by giving him a cake. For the record, it was not devil's food.
