1. MESSY COMMUTE AS SNOW PILES UP ACROSS MAINE

The snow, freezing rain and sleet will taper off through today, though cold temperatures remain.

2. JUDGE HALTS GASTON MURDER TRIAL

The judge in the murder trial of Noah Gaston halted the proceedings Tuesday over an unknown issue. Gaston is charged with shooting and killing his wife in their home in 2016.

3. MAINE SEXUAL HARASSMENT AWARENESS TRAINER OUSTED

Lawmakers have asked a woman hired to give lobbyists sexual harassment awareness training not to come back. Officials say there were complaints over the presentation, and that the training was not specific enough to dynamics at the state house.

4. WATERVILLE ROBBERY SUSPECT FALLS IN FRONT OF POLICE

Police say Jason Mackenrodt robbed the Bangor Savings Bank in Waterville Tuesday with what turned out to be a BB gun. Police say Mackenrodt took off with cash but fell on ice outside and in front of a state police officer. Mackenrodt was arrested and is being held in the Kennebec County Jail on multiple charges.

5. DRIVERS IN MAINE STILL PASSING STOPPED SCHOOL BUSES

Maine school officials and bus drivers told lawmakers in Augusta Tuesday that vehicles are passing stopped school buses almost daily. A proposed bill would double the fine for drivers to $500 and give a judge the option to suspend driver's licenses. The ACLU says such a bill is unfair to people who can't afford it.
