1. KETTLE DONATIONS STOLEN FROM SALVATION ARMY

Sanford Police are looking for the person who burglarized the Salvation Army there on Christmas Eve. The burglar made off with $1,700 in kettle donations that had been secured in a safe.

2. ELLSWORTH MAN ARRESTED AFTER BANGOR BANK ROBBERIES

Police arrest an Ellsworth man suspected of a string of robberies in Bangor... the most recent being last Wednesday at Key Bank near the Bangor Mall. Timothy Myers is being held without bail at the Penobscot County Jail.

3. MILLS NOMINATES HEATHER JOHNSON TO CABINET

Governor-elect Janet Mills nominates Heather Johnson as the next commissioner of the department of economic and community development. Johnson is the director of the state agency, Connect ME, responsible for broadband expansion.

4. BIW WINS $26 MILLION NAVY CONTRACT

Bath Iron Works wins a $26.4 million dollar contract from the U.S. Navy. The money will be used to perform services and upgrades to the Navy's new Zumwalt-class destroyers.

5. NH DEVELOPER BUYS DANA WARP MILL

The Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook is now owned by Chinburg Properties of New Hampshire. The mill... with most of its space leased out to commercial tenants... was purchased for $5.1 million dollars.
