Lightning strikes electric fence in Paris, Maine

The Oxford County Sheriff's Dept. says the lightning strike caused the box on the fence to explode.

On June 30 around 2:00 p.m, an electric fence was struck by lightning in Paris, Maine causing an electrical box to explode.

PARIS, Maine — An electric fence was struck by lightning at 549 Hebron Rd in Paris, Maine around 2:30 p.m on June 30th, according to the Oxford County Sheriff's Department.

Police say the lightning strike caused the box on the fence to explode.

Although some smoke entered a building near the fence, police say there was no fire and no injuries as a result.
