(NEWS CENTER Maine) — All Maine residents can get into any state park for free on Maine-Day.

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry is offering the free entrance to state parks and historic sites on June 17, 2018 for any vehicle with Maine license plates.

The Maine Resident's Day promotional event does not apply to Acadia National Park, the Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Peacock Beach, Scarborough Beach State Park, Swan Island, the ME Wildlife Park, the Penobscot River Corridor or the Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Prospect.

However, admission to Fort Knox State Historic Site will be free on June 17.
