Police, firefighters, and game wardens are searching near Valley Ave. and Bruce Road.

BANGOR, Maine — First responders are searching the Kenduskeag Stream in Bangor for a man who fell in Sunday afternoon, according to Bangor firefighters.

Police, firefighters, and game wardens are searching near Valley Ave. and Bruce Road. They have not identified the man, but said he is "in his 40s" and lives around Bangor.

Bangor Police say the man and his wife were down by the stream standing on a platform around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

When he tried the jump on Sunday, he climbed over the rail in an attempt to jump to the ledge below then lost his balance and fell in.

Game wardens are currently leading the search. Police say the water in the stream is cold and moving fast into the Penobscot River.
