UPDATE: Firefighters cleared the fire in Exeter early Monday morning. Officials told NEWS CENTER one firefighter will remain at the scene as a precautionary measure.

At this time the fire is still under investigation.

EXETER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — Several crews battled a structure fire Sunday night in Exeter on Exeter Road.

More than five towns were initially called in to help with others coming. Crews were hauling in water.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters said they were able to save the home nearby.

Groups of people were seen consoling property owners.

Witnesses on scene told NEWS CENTER the structure housed potatoes. The structure was a large metal barn.
