Elise Dorr, 5, shot to death in Scarborough family home

Maine State Police have identified the five-year-old girl as Elise Dorr of Belfast. 

Maine State Police have identified a five-year-old girl shot and killed Monday as Elise Dorr of Belfast.

She, her parents Todd and Virginia Dorr, and her two older siblings were staying at her grandparents' house on Milliken Road in Scarborough while they were away. Her parents were home at the time of the incident and police have interviewed both of them.

State Police are currently working with Scarborough Police in the investigation. The gun involved in the shooting has been recovered and an autopsy for Elise Dorr has been scheduled.

Police responded to 17 Milliken Street Monday around 7:30 p.m and found a five-year-old girl with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Maine Medical Center by ambulance where she later died, according to MSP.
