GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- One of the children injured in Monday's Gorham crash has died, according to multiple sources and a letter sent to parents from the Gorham School Department.
The letter from the Gorham School Department said 'We are deeply saddened to share that our Narragansett fifth grader involved in an automobile accident Monday passed away late Wednesday evening.'
The letter went on to say 'Our school counselors and social workers are continuing to offer support.'
The crash killed her father and injured her mother and two other children.
Police say 45-year-old Joseph Piawlock, the passenger of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 39-year-old Yvonne Piawlock, suffered minor injuries. They are both from Gorham.
Sgt. Young of the Gorham Police Department told NEWS CENTER that the crash was the worst wreck he had seen in his 22 years on the job.
At the time of the crash, the snow turned to rain. Sgt. Young said the road was plowed, but moisture was falling at the time of the crash.
