1. NEW HAMPSHIRE GUNMAN IN CUSTODY AFTER 24-HOUR MANHUNT

Christopher Thomas is in custody this morning after being found by police on Farmington Road in Rochester, New Hampshire. The search began on noon Sunday when someone reported seeing a man with a rifle in the Walmart parking lot, and then disappeared into the woods. Thomas reportedly fired several shots at officers, but no one was injured. He now faces charges of reckless conduct.

2. SHRIMP SEASON NEWS EXPECTED THIS WEEK

Maine fisherman will find out later this week if the shrimp season will be canceled again. An advisory panel that reports to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission is meeting on Thursday to make a recommendation about having a season in 2019. Seasons have been canceled the past 5 years, due to concerns about warming waters in the Gulf of Maine.

3. CONGRESS RETURNS TO WORK AS RECOUNTS CONTINUE

Today, Congress returns to work for the first time since last week's historic midterms, to begin a lame-duck session with a long legislative to-do list. Control of the House flips to the Democrats in January, but the composition of each chamber isn't yet set, with some midterm votes still being counted and, in some cases, recounted.

4. CALIFORNIA FIRES CLAIM 45+ PEOPLE, THOUSANDS OF BUILDINGS

Authorities reported late Monday night more fatalities from wildfires in California, bringing the total death toll so far to more than 45 people statewide. President Donald Trump says he has approved an "expedited" major disaster declaration for California over the deadly wildfires burning at both ends of the state.

5. COMIC BOOK LEGEND STAN LEE DIES AT 95

Fans across the world, and of course in Maine, are remembering Stan Lee, the creator of most of Marvel's most popular characters. Those characters not only inhabited comic book pages for decades, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the most popular and highest-grossing movie series of all time. The cause of death for Stan Lee isn't known at this time, but it was reported that he was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles before he died.
