Tired of the treadmill? How about trail running... for 50 miles!

It's an active Memorial Day Weekend. All of these events happen this weekend, including yoga with goats, running with dogs, and paddling with new friends.

Pineland Farms Trail Running Festival

Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27. Pineland Farms, New Gloucester. $25-$75 depending on event. pinelandtrails.com

There will be trail running galore all weekend (1km Kids’ race, 5km Canicross (dog+runner), 5k Trail Race, and 10km on Saturday and 25km, 50km, and 50-mile races on Sunday). But it’s also very much about the trail running camaraderie and celebration. The festival includes plenty of beer drinking, BBQ (veggie friendly), pot-luck dishes, desserts, eclectic music performances, and fun family activities.

Mutt Strut 5K

8 a.m. Saturday, May 26. Kennebec River Rail Trail, Augusta. $25, $30 with dog ($30, $35 with dog day of). pethavenlane.org

You know who loves to run and walk? Your dog! Bring your four-legged-BFF to the Mutt Strut 5K. All funds raised go directly to support more than 2,000 animals that find their way to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society annually, and all dog registrations will include a Mutt Strut collar bandana for your dog. All dogs are welcome. The race will also include a pre-race warm-up and a variety of services by local vendors before and after the race.

Hiking Yoga

7 a.m. Sunday, May 27. Meet at Mount Agamenticus Ring Trail trailhead, York. $20 cash or check. yogaonyork.com/summer-beach-hiking-yoga

Do yoga on the summit of Mount Agamenticus! You'll meet the group at the Ring Trail trailhead/parking area and go on a 15-minute hike to the summit (just long enough to get your blood pumping!). At the summit, enjoy yoga under the open sky. Hiking Yoga continues every other Sunday through the summer.

Group Paddle on Jordan Bay

1 p.m. Sunday, May 27. Sebago Trails Paddling Company, Raymond. Free with your own kayak or rent for $20.

Join Sebago Trails Paddling Co. on their first paddle club event of the season. Meet at private launch site located next to Sebago Trails Paddling Co. in Raymond. Explore the natural stream of Panther Run to get a glimpse of wildlife and then make your way on to Jordan Bay of Sebago Lake for vast lake views.

Miles for Mills 5K

9 a.m. Monday, May 28. Front Street, Augusta. $20 plus optional fundraising. www.travismills.org/miles-for-mills

Show support for veterans and help raise funds for the Travis Mills Foundation. The 5K is a low, flat course through downtown Augusta and is safe and walkable for families, too. Your fundraising support will helps the organization welcome 128 veteran families to Maine this year. There's also an after party at Cushnoc Brewing Co.

Goat Yoga

5:30-7 p.m. Monday, May 28. Smiling Hill Farm, Westbrook. $20. ashleyflowersyoga.com

Goats and yoga in one evening. Ashley Flowers is leading goat yoga at Smiling Hill Farm all season. Start with goat snuggling, enjoy an hour of yoga, then back to the goats. Bring a mat/towel or practice on the grass. All levels yoga class. Picture taking and goat petting are encouraged!
