5th Annual Pants on Fire 5k

Walk or run this 5K, which benefits the Winterport Fire and Rescue Association and the Winterport Rec Department. After, hit the beer tent (all participants 21+ receive one free beer as part of your registration) and enjoy live entertainment and kids activities. The race is also pet friendly and stroller friendly.


Maine Women’s Ride
7 a.m. Sunday, June 10. L.L.Bean Discovery Park, Freeport. $25-$60. mainewomensride.com
Choose your distance: 10, 25, 50, or 62 miles of beautiful views of the coast and countryside around Freeport. The event offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere geared toward girls and women of all ages and abilities. There are rest stops, healthy snacks and support vehicles along the way. Afterward, you’ll be welcomed with music, lunch, and a party.


Waterville Pub Run
6 p.m. Wednesday, June 13. Meet at The Concourse, downtown Waterville. Free to run. facebook.com/centralmainestriders
Every Wednesday through August, join the Central Maine Striders for a group run and pub social. This isn't a race, but rather a casual 3-mile run that ends at one of the Waterville pubs. It's free to run, but bring money for beer after.


Maine Summer Adventure Race
9 a.m. Saturday, June 16 . Hidden Valley Nature Center, Jefferson. $115 per team (8-hour), $200 per team (24-hour). mainesummerar.com
This is an all-day adventure! Really! Choose from the 8-hour or 24-hour race and gather a team of 2, 3, or 4 people. Both races include hiking, biking, and paddling - and a bit of strategy. You'll bring your own bike, but paddling gear is provided. The courses will be revealed the day of the event. Afterward, enjoy a post-race feast, including local fare and a beer from Oxbow Brewing. (A beginner friendly 3-hour race is planned for September.)


Kennebec Land Trust Property Pedal Bike Tour
9 a.m. Saturday, June 16. Wayne Elementary School, Wayne. Free (please pre-register). tklt.org
Join the Kennebec Land Trust and the Kennebec Valley Bicycle Club for a scenic bike tour of KLT properties. Choose a 16 or 37-mile loop. This is a no-drop ride - all abilities welcome. Please preregister by calling the KLT office at 377-2848, or email jtheriault@tklt.org
