If you were big fans of American Idol, you know Kara DioGuardi.
She joined the show as its fourth judge in the show's 8th season - but she had a successful career before then writing hit songs for artists like Christina Aguilera, Pink, Kelly Clarkson and Britney Spears.
And she continues to write music - even as she makes her home in York.
DioGuardi is giving back to the community with a one day competition at the Ogunquit Playhouse called "New England Sings." It'll be an Idol-like competition that raises money for The Ogunquit Playhouse, The York County Family Fund, My Breast Cancer Support, The First Parish of York Outreach and Enough Abuse Campaign.
