Girlfriend of suspect in deputy's killing indicted

John Williams' friend said Wednesday that Williams was depressed, in part about his girlfriends' recent arrest, and was nervous about the possible sentence for the gun charges.

SKOWHEGAN (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- The girlfriend of the man accused of killing a Somerset County Sheriff's Deputy was indicted by a Somerset County Grand Jury.

Kristina Pomerleau indicted on two drug charges: furnishing and possessing cocaine. She was arrested on April 21, four days before the alleged shooting and killing of Corporal Eugene Cole, in which John Williams the suspect. Williams was arrested in Massachusetts in March for illegal possession of a firearm. Pomerleau was summonsed in that case on possession of Percocet.

Williams was scheduled to appear in court in Massachusetts on the day he allegedly shot and killed Corporal Cole. Friends who were with Williams hours before the shooting, including Chris Shulenski, said Williams was wavering on whether to actually show up for the court appearance. Shulenski said Wednesday that Williams was depressed, in part about his girlfriends' recent arrest, and was nervous about the possible sentence for the gun charges.

The Morning Sentinel reports she is scheduled to appear in court on June 27 in Skowhegan.
