Rumford police officer tests positive for COVID-19

The town's municipal building, police station, and district court are closed Friday, August 28, for a deep cleaning.

RUMFORD, Maine — A member of the Rumford Police Department has tested positive for COVID-19.

Town Manager Stacy Carter said the officer is currently asymptomatic and self-quarantining.

The town's municipal building, including the police station and district court, is closed Friday for a deep cleaning.

Carter says she's working with Rumford Police Chief Tony Milligan and health officials to conduct employee testing.
