New Hampshire man charged with drug, firearm possession

Police say Fortier was in possession of 25 grams of crystal meth, cocaine, suspected fentanyl, prescription medication, an assortment of ammunition and a loaded 16 gauge shotgun was recovered in close proximity to where Fortier was located.

LEBANON, MAINE, Maine — Maine State Police arrested a New Hampshire man for firearms and drug charges on Saturday.

According to the Maine State Police Facebook page, a revolver was found where the man was in hiding. 

Police identified the man as Richard Fortier, 31, of Allenstown New Hampshire.

Fortier had a warrant for receiving stolen property, was on probation in New Hampshire and had an extensive criminal history.

Police say Fortier was in possession of 25 grams of crystal meth, cocaine, suspected fentanyl, prescription medication, an assortment of ammunition and a loaded 16 gauge shotgun was recovered in close proximity to where Fortier was located.

Fortier was transported to the York County Jail where he was charged with aggravated trafficking of a scheduled drug, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and being a fugitive from justice.

Fortier is being held on $20,000 bail.
