Multiple police agencies respond to shooting in Boothbay Harbor

A man was taken to a hospital after being shot outside an apartment complex on Reed Road, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said.

BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine — Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Boothbay Harbor police officers, and the Maine State Police Tactical Team responded to a report of a shooting on Reed Road in Boothbay Harbor Sunday afternoon. 

A man was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex, a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said. The man was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland via LifeFlight. As of Monday morning, there is no word on his condition.

Police were still on the scene around 10 p.m. Sunday, and a suspect was "believed to be contained," according to the release.

Deputies said a standoff with the suspect ended early Monday morning.

No additional information has been released.
