INDIAN TOWNSHIP, Maine — A man from Indian Township has been indicted for Class A attempted murder after he allegedly put a gun to another man's head and fired through a wall.

Tyunique J. Pounds, 27, remained in Washington County Jail Wednesday morning.

Pounds was a guest at a party in Indian Township in Washington County on Oct. 4, 2021, when he allegedly became agitated, calling another man names and challenging him to a fight, Washington County District Attorney Matthew Foster said in an email.

Pounds allegedly pulled out a gun and put it to the other man's head. When the man fought for the gun, Pounds allegedly fired it beside the man's head, after which a round went through a wall.

The man allegedly held Pounds down until another person took the gun away.

A witness said Pounds had been drinking heavily and was belligerent, showing off the gun earlier at the party.
