GEORGETOWN, Maine (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- NBC's Today show plans on visiting Maine next week, to promote Today Outdoors with a RV trip. The tour kicks-off in Boston before it heads to the MidCoast. Many locals heard of the upcoming appearance, but were unsure of the reason they picked their small, coastal town in Maine.
NEWS CENTER Maine will be on location Tuesday morning during the Morning Report. Today will be broadcasting at Sagadahoc Bay Campground from 7-9 a.m.
Diann Longstreet photographs scenic areas in town. Her post cards and calendars are sold at the Georgetown Country Store.
"I thought it was to show some campgrounds in the area," said Longstreet about . She recommends the Today Show staff check out areas at different times of the day because it is always a "perfect view."
Georgetown, Maine, is the home of Reid State Park and sits on the Atlantic Coast. The town typically has 1,000 people living in it throughout the year, but the population triples during the summer. Georgetown has one main road in, Route 127, and there are only a few places to eat.
