Harvard researchers suggest keeping up with social distancing until 2022

Experts believe in order to lessen the burden on hospitals, distancing may be required a bit longer.

On the First Coast, social distancing has played a key role in flattening the curve of the coronavirus.

But, new research suggests it may need to continue a couple more years in the U.S. to prevent large breakouts of COVID-19.

Here’s the Buzz: Researchers from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health studied computer models to create scenarios for how the virus could possibly spread over the next five years.

They believe in order to lessen the burden on healthcare systems, distancing may be required until 2022. The models considered how long immunity could last for recovered patients and whether the virus was seasonal.

With a growing number of cases around the world, researchers don’t think the virus will be eliminated soon.

Giving examples of South Korea and Singapore, the researchers said effective distancing enable contact tracing and quarantine to be feasible.

The projections could change if a treatment or vaccine becomes available.

Free AAA services for frontline workers

AAA is giving healthcare workers and first responders free roadside assistance to say thanks amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This will go through at least the end of April.

It includes towing, tire changes, fuel delivery, jumpstarts, and lockout service.
AAA says it will provide that service whether you're a member of its auto club or not.

Returning to the office

When everyone finally returns to the office, things could look a lot different.

Design experts believe companies will change the layouts of their offices permanently to make them more sanitary.

There will likely be more automatic doors and fewer chairs in break rooms. Plus, there is a great chance some workers may not go back to the office at all.

With more than a third of the U.S. working from home right now, experts think businesses may keep more employees home moving forward.
