His is one of the best known names in Maine. The Captain, Herb Ivy has been playing rock for, sharing big historical moments and connecting with a legion of fans for 33 years.
Intelligent, witty and courteous, Ivy tends to downplay any compliment and emphasizes his radio partner, Celeste.
"We need this job, there's no Plan B at this point," he muses despite his enormous popularity.
Should he quit his morning job, the University of Virginia graduate could fall back on what he does after nine o'clock. He is Regional Operations Manager for Townsquare Media, which owns 320 stations in 66 markets.
He also serves as Chair of the Board of the Maine Association of Broadcasters.
