New England Cornhole Championship offers an interesting double

Sunday River hosted the New England Corn Hole Championships. Thirty-two teams from all over the region came to Newry to compete for the crown.

NEWRY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — Sunday River hosted the New England Cornhole Championships on a rainy October day. The resort is constantly adding promotions to attract people all four seasons.

In addition to the cornhole competition was their popular wife-carrying competition. Thirty-two teams showed up to compete.

First place went to Team Cornstars, which "cornsisted" of Joshua Sirois of Litchfield and Justin Greenleaf of Lewiston. Second place went to Team Inthole, which was made up of Michael Jacques of Peru and Matt Pelletier of Dixfield.

Bill Green of NEWS CENTER and Darcy Lambert of Sunday River formed the team The Corn Identity. They finished tied for 17th.
