Does this make my butt look big? Rappelling for Rippleffect

Hundreds descend a fifteen story building in a fundraiser for group which gives kids experiential outdoor learning.

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- It's a long way down, At least it seems that way to those who rappel for Rippleffect. They are walking backward down the side of the 160-foot Canal Plaza.

"We believe the outdoor experience, the adventure experience is a wonderful platform to build community," said Rippleffect Executive Director Adam Shepherd. "Whether it is peer-to-peer, or peer to guide."

Rippleffect takes kids outside and Rappel for Rippleffect is an important fundraiser.

Each person who rappelled raised $500 or was sponsored by a local company. The event was limited to 100 climbers.

The event is coordinated by Over the Edge.
