Samantha Sugerman joined the NEWS CENTER Maine team as a Multi-Skilled Journalist in February 2018.  She came from her hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, where she worked in television news first as an Associate Producer and then as a Digital Content Writer and Photojournalist.

Samantha graduated from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Health Communication in May 2014.

Since joining NEWS CENTER Maine, Samantha has been instrumental in the station’s reporting on Enoch McGovern, the child who was seriously injured after his mother jumped in front of a tanker truck, holding Enoch in her arms on I-95 in Lincoln.  Samantha was the only reporter to sit down with Enoch’s father and grandparents after the crash. Samantha was briefly part of an internet viral video when an ATV crash happened just a few feet away from her minutes prior to her live news report on an unrelated story. She is known as "the plane crash expert" around the newsroom after being the first on the scene of several plane crashes across the state.
