PORTLAND, Maine — Jason Nappi comes to NEWS CENTER Maine from south Louisiana, where he was a chief meteorologist for KADN/KLAF-TV for three years.

During his time along the Gulf Coast Jason led a team through the worst hurricane season Mother Nature has ever dished out, not to mention several tornado outbreaks and even an ice storm.

Before traveling to the crawfish capital of the world, Jason spent three years as a meteorologist at WSPA-TV in Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina.

He has also had stops in Augusta, Georgia, at WJBF-TV; Oak Hill, West Virginia, at WOAY-TV; Portland, Maine, at WMTW-TV; Manchester, New Hampshire, at WMUR-TV; Elmira, New York, at WETM-TV; and New York City at WPIX-TV.

In December of 2013, Nappi was awarded the AMS CBM by the American Meteorological Society. The AMS CBM is awarded to those that have passed rigorous testing in their knowledge and communication of meteorology.

In 2002 Jason graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. The weather, especially tracking nor’easters, is Jason’s biggest passion but cooking pizza from scratch is a close second.
