MIAMI GARDENS, FL - DECEMBER 11: Danny Amendola #80 of the New England Patriots fails to complete a touchdown against the defense of T.J. McDonald #22 of the Miami Dolphins in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium

(NEWS CENTER Maine) — Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, according to an NFL Network report.

Dan Hellie tweeted Tuesday afternoon citing a source that the two-time Super Bowl champion would be staying in the AFC East and is expected to sign with Miami.

Amendola joined the Patriots as a free agent in 2013. He caught 230 passes, 12 touchdowns and nearly 2,400 receiving yards in five seasons with New England.

The 32-year-old was instrumental in propelling the Patriots to a league-leading 10th Super Bowl appearance in 2018, catching two key touchdown passes in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship game.

He ranks 25th overall in receiving yards in Patriots team history.
